Self Care For The Body

Updated: Feb 9, 2023

Blog #3 part two

BAEUTY RITUALS

Beauty rituals go way further than skin deep. Pampering yourself is about slowing down, engaging your sense and being fully present without distractions. While we all love a trip to the beautician, you can treat yourself more frequently with these rituals.

POWER SHOWER

Shampoo your hair with extra care then put on your favourite leave-in conditioner. Exfoliate your skin then wash your whole body with scented shower gel.

MASK UP

Mask are a self-care cliche for a reason! There's something so luxurious about patting on a lovely thick cream and letting it work its magic while you kick back and watch Netflix. Or you could try the cucumber on-the-eyelid treatment for maximum relaxation.

DRY BRUSHING

Say goodbye to strawberry legs and boost your circulation with a body brush session. Use long, upwards strokes all over your body before showering. Be sure to follow with your favourite body lotion.

MAKE UP AND DRESS UP

Honestly speaking, recreating different styling look and makeup makes me feel happy. You should try it too, believe me, how a little makeup and dressing up will help you boost your confidence. Looking good make you feel good.

FACIAL MASSAGE

Inexpensive jade roller feel cool and soothing on the skin. Try a spot of rolling while watching Netflix, and you'll help stimulate circulation and aid lymphatic drainage for a less puffy appearance.

FOOT MASSAGE

If you can't persuade anyone to rub your feet, do it yourself! Sit comfortably and place one foot on the opposite knee so you can reach it with both hands. Grasp your foot with both hands and press your thumbs slowly along the bottom of your foot, from the heel to the toes. Now give each toe a squeeze and gentle stretch. Massage your ankles, arches and hard-working heels.

TENNIS BALL MASSAGE

All hail the furry yellow wonder! Soothe tired feet by stepping lightly onto the ball rolling it back and forth on the bottom of your foot. Must try it.

We all thought that achieving flawless and healthy skin is difficult. But, getting attractive is no longer a challenging task. Instead of going to the salon or picking up beauty products, all you have to do is nurture your body with right food. Nurturing your body with good food is a daily opportunity to practice self care.

FOOD FOR SELF CARE

Raspberries are rich in antioxidants, fibre and vitamin C. These components help you feel refreshed, give a good texture to your skin and slow down the ageing process. Vitamin C helps to rejuvenate your skin, thereby making it feel fresh and healthy.

Like most of the citrus fruits, oranges are rich in vitamin C and are good for your skin’s collagen construction. In fact, this fruit's peel and juice are abundantly used in anti-ageing creams, as they help in tightening your skin. Oranges are also rich in vitamin B1, which helps to boost your body’s immunity system.

Bananas are rich in iron, magnesium and potassium and vitamins A, B and E. Being rich in vitamin E, it makes the skin soft. And, also helps in removing signs of ageing or wrinkles. Eating as well as applying this fruit will do wonders to your skin.

I try to eat as much fruits as I can, you can say 50% of my food intake is fruits.

AIM FOR A BALANCE DIET

Colourful fruit and veggies, lean proteins, whole grains, healthy fats, lots of fibre, less use of oil, sugar and salt. Believe me make you look perfect!

You're probably well-versed in the components of a balanced diet, but it never hurts to be reminded!

BE PRESENT

Have you ever looked down at your empty dinner plate and thought, 'where the heck did that go?' When we eat in a rush, we don't get the full sensory experience of eating, and often miss the physical cues of satiety. Try slowing down for one meal per day to start with. Put your food on a nice plate then sit down to eat it without distractions.

And yes! Before ending this blog I would say, 'don't forget your water intake'. Water is secret ingredient of beauty. If you want to look beautiful you have to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.

We all know hydration is important but it's so easy to forget. Buy a nice water bottle that you actually enjoy caring around.

I am ending this blog now, I hope you are loving this self care blog series. Be sure to read next blog.
